Great to meet you!

Life can be hard and sometimes overwhelming, but there is light, even if you can’t see it right now. You don’t have to carry everything alone. With support, healing and growth are possible. You deserve a space where you feel heard, understood, and supported without judgment. Starting therapy can feel vulnerable, but I’m here to walk alongside you. I am a Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC) in Virginia with over 10 years of experience in the helping profession, including clinical mental health work since 2020. I earned my Master of Science in Education in Clinical Mental Health and School Counseling from Old Dominion University. I work with adolescents, young adults, adults, couples, and veterans ages 11 to 40 supporting concerns such as life transitions, relationships, anxiety, depression, stress, trauma, self-esteem, and personal growth. I focus on building a genuine connection and creating a safe, welcoming space where you can be yourself. I value cultural humility and honor your unique experiences and strengths, meeting you where you are while supporting your growth. I believe healing happens in supportive relationships. Whether you’re facing challenges, processing the past, or moving into a new chapter, I’m here to support you. There is hope, and together we can help you move forward. Outside of counseling, I enjoy singing, painting, music, travel, and exploring different cultures, which help keep me grounded and inspired.

My approach to therapy

My approach to therapy is collaborative, compassionate, and centered around you. I believe everyone has the capacity for growth and healing, even during life’s most difficult seasons. Because no two people are the same, I tailor our work to fit your unique needs and goals. My role is to walk alongside you helping you gain insight, recognize your strengths, and build the tools you need to move forward. I draw from evidence-based approaches like CBT, Motivational Interviewing, mindfulness, Solution-Focused Therapy, and trauma-informed care. I offer support and encouragement while also gently challenging you to explore patterns, develop healthier coping strategies, and deepen your self-awareness. I approach my work with cultural humility, honoring how your identity and experiences shape who you are. Creating a space where you feel safe, respected, and truly understood is essential because your story matters. I also take a holistic view of well-being, recognizing how different areas of life are connected. Together, we’ll work toward meaningful growth, resilience, and a stronger sense of self so you can move forward with confidence and purpose.

What you can expect from me

Your first session is a chance for us to get to know each other and start building a trusting connection. I know starting therapy can feel intimidating, so my goal is to create a warm, supportive space where you can feel comfortable being yourself whether that means using a little humor, slowing things down, or simply meeting you where you are. We’ll talk about what brings you in, what you’ve been going through, your strengths, and what you hope to get out of therapy. I’ll ask questions to better understand your experiences, and together we’ll begin identifying goals that feel meaningful to you. I truly believe therapy works best as a team effort, so your voice and perspective will always guide our work. Most importantly, I want you to leave feeling heard, supported, and a little more hopeful, knowing you don’t have to go through this alone.
