Great to meet you!

Falisa Byers is a Licensed Clinical Social Worker, Certified Clinical Supervisor, and trauma-informed consultant dedicated to helping individuals and organizations build pathways toward healing, resilience, and liberation. As the founder of F.A.B. Consulting LLC, Falisa partners with schools, nonprofits, community organizations, and youth-serving programs to strengthen their practices through Social Emotional Learning (SEL), Trauma-Informed Care, Diversity, Equity & Inclusion, and decolonized, anti-racist frameworks.

With over a decade of experience in clinical work, youth development, crisis intervention, and program design, Falisa brings a deeply relational, culturally responsive, and empowerment-driven approach to everything she does. Her work is rooted in the belief that healing is not linear, support must be holistic, and systems must actively dismantle harmful norms to create truly equitable spaces.

In addition to her consulting work, Falisa provides therapy for both youth and adults, specializing in anxiety, depression, trauma recovery, and major life transitions. She combines evidence-based practices with strengths-based, decolonized, and anti-oppressive philosophies, ensuring that clients feel seen, affirmed, and supported in their full identities and lived experiences.

Falisa earned both her BSW and MSW from Governors State University, receiving Outstanding BSW Student and Outstanding MSW Student honors for her leadership, academic excellence, and contributions to the social work community. She is trained in IM+CANS, crisis intervention, sexual assault advocacy, and brings a holistic, culturally grounded, and justice-centered lens to all aspects of her practice.

Her mission is to support individuals and organizations in building environments where healing, equity, and community care are not only possible, but sustainable.

My approach to therapy

My approach to therapy is collaborative, compassionate, and grounded in authenticity. I believe healing happens within a trusting relationship where clients feel seen, heard, and supported without judgment. I work from a trauma-informed and strengths-based lens, helping clients recognize their resilience while also identifying patterns that may no longer serve them.

At the same time, I believe in the importance of accountability and gentle challenge. Growth often requires us to look honestly at ourselves, and I view my role as walking beside you, offering both empathy and reflection that invites deeper insight and change. Together, we’ll explore your goals, uncover underlying themes, and develop practical tools to support lasting well-being and self-empowerment.

What you can expect from me

In our first session, clients can expect a welcoming and supportive space to begin building a therapeutic relationship. We’ll start by going over intake questions and any initial assessments, which help me get a fuller understanding of your background, current concerns, and what brought you to therapy.

I encourage clients to use this time to share openly, ask questions, and express any challenges or hesitations they might have about the process. This is also an opportunity for us to discuss what feels most important to you right now and begin identifying your goals for therapy, what you hope to understand, change, or strengthen.

My goal for the first session is to help you feel comfortable, informed, and grounded in the understanding that this is your space to grow, at your own pace.
