Great to meet you!

I am a licensed psychologist and PhD with a specialty in anxiety, perfectionism, and the kind of burnout that tends to show up in people who have always pushed through. A significant part of my practice is with high-achieving adults — professionals, executives, graduate students, and entrepreneurs — who are performing well by most external measures but feel disconnected, stuck, or quietly overwhelmed underneath. I am Iranian-American and conduct sessions in both English and Farsi. For clients from Persian and Middle Eastern backgrounds, I understand the particular weight of intergenerational expectations, cultural identity, and navigating two worlds at once. My approach is direct and collaborative — I will tell you what I notice, ask you the questions worth sitting with, and give you practical tools alongside the deeper insight work.

My approach to therapy

I integrate Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT) with psychodynamic principles — meaning we work on both the patterns you are living now and the history that shaped them. ACT helps you relate differently to the thoughts and feelings that keep you stuck, rather than simply trying to suppress them. The psychodynamic piece helps us understand where those patterns came from so they lose their grip. I am not a blank-slate therapist. I engage actively, offer real feedback, and adapt the pace and depth of our work to what you actually need in each session. For clients dealing with trauma, I also draw on trauma-focused approaches and Exposure and Response Prevention for OCD and anxiety.

What you can expect from me

The first session is a conversation — not an intake form read aloud. I want to understand what brought you here right now, what you have already tried, and what you are hoping life looks and feels like on the other side of this work. By the end of our first hour, you will have a clearer sense of whether my approach is right for you, and I will share my initial read of what I think is happening and what I would want us to focus on. You will leave with something useful — not just a follow-up appointment. Telehealth sessions are available via secure video, and I offer morning and evening appointments to work around demanding schedules.
