Great to meet you!

Hi, I'm Faryal Glootz, a dual-certified Psychiatric and Family Nurse Practitioner with over 12 years of clinical experience. I work with adults via telehealth across New York, and I bring a holistic, whole-person approach to everything I do.

Trauma and PTSD are at the center of my clinical focus, alongside anxiety, depression, bipolar disorder, OCD, ADD/ADHD, panic disorders, sleep difficulties, grief, anger management, substance use, stress, and family concerns. I also have a dedicated focus on maternal mental health — supporting women through the prenatal and postpartum periods, and I bring culturally responsive care to clients navigating cultural and ethnic dimensions of their mental health.

I believe great care looks different for every person. My job is to understand yours — and build something that actually fits.

My approach to therapy

My approach is collaborative, evidence-based, and grounded in a genuine effort to understand the full picture of each person's life, not just their symptoms.

Trauma Focused CBT is a cornerstone of my work with clients carrying trauma and PTSD. This specialized approach addresses trauma's specific impact on thought patterns and behavior, helping clients process difficult experiences in a structured, safe, and effective way.

I also incorporate Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), an approach that helps clients develop psychological flexibility: learning to hold difficult thoughts and feelings without being controlled by them, while taking meaningful action aligned with their values. ACT is particularly powerful for anxiety, OCD, depression, and the emotional weight of chronic stress.

As a dual-certified Family and Psychiatric NP, I bring expertise in both the psychiatric and physical dimensions of health, and I'm especially attentive to how these intersect for women navigating pregnancy, postpartum recovery, and the many psychological layers those experiences carry.

My style is thoughtful, non-judgmental, and focused on what genuinely helps

What you can expect from me

In our first session, we'll talk through what's bringing you in, your history, and your goals. I take the time to really understand your experience before making any recommendations, because the right plan starts with the right understanding.

By the end of our session, you'll have a clear sense of next steps and a beginning treatment plan that may include therapy approaches, medication, or both. I'll make sure you leave informed, not just scheduled.

Above all, I want you to feel comfortable being honest. This is a non-judgmental space, and that's not just something I say. It's how I practice.
