Great to meet you!

You may be so used to taking care of everyone else that it is hard to recognize when you need support too. Family responsibilities can become overwhelming, stress may follow you even when you finally have a moment to yourself, and anger or relationship difficulties can leave you feeling disconnected from the people who matter most. I work with adults, adolescents, and children experiencing family issues, stress management, anger management, cultural and ethnic concerns, and relationship issues. These experiences can also overlap with anxiety, grief or loss, maternal mental health concerns, identity issues, or PTSD, especially when your relationships, responsibilities, culture, and emotional wellbeing are all influencing one another. Therapy can give you a place where you do not have to carry every role at once. Together, we can understand what has been weighing on you, strengthen the relationships that matter to you, and help you find healthier ways to care for yourself while navigating the demands of everyday life.

My approach to therapy

Our work will make room for both the person you are and the family, relationships, culture, responsibilities, and experiences that have shaped you. We’ll explore how family issues, stress, anger, cultural and ethnic concerns, and relationship difficulties may be affecting your emotional wellbeing and the way you connect with yourself and others. I may use Cognitive Behavioral Therapy to help you recognize patterns in thoughts and behaviors that contribute to distress and develop healthier ways of responding, Narrative Therapy to explore the stories you have developed about yourself, your relationships, and your experiences, and Acceptance and Commitment Therapy to help you navigate difficult emotions while staying connected to your values. Positive Psychology can help us identify strengths, sources of meaning, and what is already helping you move forward, while Attachment Based approaches can help you better understand relationship patterns and build healthier emotional connections. Motivational Interviewing can give you space to explore change without pressure, and Solution Focused Brief Therapy can help us turn your goals into practical, manageable steps. Our sessions will be collaborative, respectful, and grounded in the reality of your life rather than expecting you to fit into a predetermined version of therapy.

What you can expect from me

You do not have to come to therapy knowing exactly what needs to change or how to make it happen. During our first few sessions, we will take time to understand what has been weighing on you, the relationships and responsibilities that are important to you, and what you hope will feel different. Together, we will create goals that feel meaningful and realistic and decide where it makes the most sense to begin. You can expect me to meet you with warmth, humor, and respect while creating a space where you can speak openly without feeling judged. Progress may look like managing stress with greater confidence, responding to anger in healthier ways, communicating more effectively with the people you care about, navigating family challenges with clearer boundaries, or feeling more connected to yourself while balancing the needs of others. We will continue checking in on your goals and adjust our work as your needs evolve. When you are ready, you can schedule your first session with me through Headway.
