Great to meet you!

Stepping into therapy is a profound commitment to yourself, and I am here to ensure you have a supportive, empathetic partner for that journey. I am Fayedra Mumme, a Licensed Clinical Professional Counselor dedicated to helping individuals navigate the weight of sadness, worry, and critical self-talk. I specialize in supporting adults through trauma, grief, and significant life transitions, providing a space where your experiences are truly seen and understood. I feel privileged to help my clients achieve their goals and improve their lives by fostering a relationship rooted in transparency, honesty, and the vulnerability necessary for true healing.

I believe that the therapeutic relationship is the most important element of our work together. I make a dedicated effort to see your world through your eyes, ensuring that you feel respected and validated regardless of the challenges you face. Whether you are managing long-standing anxiety or navigating a recent loss, I want my clients to feel safe and empowered during our time together. When I am not working with clients, I focus on maintaining my own emotional well-being and balance, which allows me to remain a grounded and present advocate for your growth.

My approach to therapy

My approach is warm, empathetic, and deeply centered on your unique needs. I focus on helping you identify and develop the practical skills required to support your emotional well-being and silence the "critical inner voice" that can feel so paralyzing. By combining compassionate listening with evidence-based strategies, I help you move through the hurdles of depression and trauma toward a more resilient version of yourself. I hope that my clients will be able to positively grow while working together by discovering new ways to process their history and manage their present.

We will focus on creating a path forward that feels authentic to you. I encourage a collaborative environment where we can untangle complex emotions and work through life's transitions with clarity. Clients should expect to feel heard and supported throughout our time together as we collaboratively bridge the gap between feeling stuck and living a life characterized by healing and self-compassion.

What you can expect from me

Our first hour is about turning down the noise of the outside world so we can focus entirely on what has been weighing on you. We will spend our time together untangling the specific concerns and symptoms that brought you in, moving at a pace that feels natural to you. This initial session is dedicated to getting to know you—exploring your history, your current circumstances, and the reasons you are seeking support.

In our first sessions, we'll explore questions like: What would healing or progress look like for you? What is bothering you the most? What changes would you hope to see in your life? These conversations help guide our work together and ensure therapy is focused on what matters most to you. By the end of the session, we will have begun sketching out a working plan and identifying the initial goals that will lead us toward success.
