Great to meet you!

I’m a Licensed Professional Counselor Supervisor (LPC-S) with a PhD in Counseling Education and Supervision, and I’ve spent my career working with children, teens, adults, and families who are navigating hard seasons, big transitions, and emotional overwhelm. My background includes clinical practice, clinical supervision, and teaching and training graduate counselors, which means I bring both deep clinical experience and a strong foundation in evidence-based care.

Many of my clients are dealing with anxiety, depression, relationship struggles, family-of-origin wounds, academic or career pressure, and the feeling of being overwhelmed while trying to “hold it all together.” I also have extensive experience with trauma, attachment concerns, foster care/adoption experiences, self harm and suicidal ideation.

For clients who desire it, I can also integrate Christian faith and spirituality into the counseling process in a way that is compassionate, respectful, and never forced.

My approach to therapy

My approach is relational, practical, and trauma-informed. I believe healing happens in safe, consistent relationships, so building trust and helping you feel understood is always the first priority.

I draw from evidence-based models like CBT, ACT, REBT, attachment-focused work, and skills-based strategies for emotional regulation and communication. With teens, I often incorporate activities, creativity, and developmentally appropriate tools. With young adults, we often work on boundaries, communication, self-worth, and managing life transitions in healthier ways. With adults, we balance insight with real-life tools you can actually use outside of session.

I see my clients as people who developed understandable coping strategies in response to difficult experiences that aren't doing the job you need them to. Together, we look at what’s working, what’s not working anymore, and how to build healthier patterns emotionally, relationally, and behaviorally.

Therapy with me is collaborative. You’re the expert on your life; I bring clinical knowledge, structure, and support to help you move toward the life and relationships you want.

What you can expect from me

The first session is about getting to know you — not putting you on the spot or diving into the deepest parts of your story before you’re ready.

We’ll talk about what brought you to therapy now, what’s been feeling heavy or stuck, and what you’re hoping might change. I’ll ask some background questions to understand your history, relationships, and current stressors, but you are always in control of what and how much you share.

You can expect a calm, non-judgmental space where you don’t have to have the “right words.” If you’ve been holding things in for a long time, we go at your pace. Before we end, we’ll begin shaping goals together and I’ll share initial thoughts about how we can approach the work.

Most clients leave the first session feeling relieved, more hopeful, and with a clearer sense that they don’t have to carry everything by themselves anymore.
