Great to meet you!

I’m Felicia Peterson, a Licensed Professional Counselor with a warm, relational style and a deep respect for the complexity of people’s stories. I’ve worked in the mental health field since 2015 and earned my graduate degree from Grand Canyon University in 2021. I support clients ages 6 to 70+, helping children, teens, and adults navigate anxiety, life transitions, identity shifts, grief, and relational stress. Clients often describe me as calm, attentive, and grounded, and I strive to create a space where you can feel understood, supported, and empowered to grow.

My approach to therapy

My approach is relational, strengths‐based, and deeply collaborative. I believe people heal through connection — connection to their emotions, their story, and the parts of themselves that have been overlooked or overwhelmed. In our work together, I help you slow down, understand your patterns, and build emotional clarity so you can move through life with more confidence and intention.

I balance structure with exploration, making sure sessions feel focused while still allowing space for depth and curiosity. I integrate mindfulness, emotional processing, and creative or experiential tools when helpful, especially with children and teens. Above all, I aim to create a space that feels steady, non‐judgmental, and genuinely supportive, where you can show up as you are and grow at your own pace.

What you can expect from me

In our first session, my focus is on getting to know you — not just the challenges bringing you to therapy, but the context, strengths, and experiences that shape who you are. We’ll talk about what’s been going on in your life, what you’re hoping to work toward, and what feels most important for me to understand about you right now.

I move at your pace. Some people come in ready to dive deep; others need time to warm up. There’s no pressure to share more than you’re comfortable with. I’ll ask thoughtful questions to help us build a clear picture of your goals, and I’ll explain how I work so you know what to expect moving forward.

By the end of the session, you’ll have a sense of my style, we’ll identify your initial goals together, and you’ll leave knowing that this is a space where you can show up honestly and be met with steadiness, curiosity, and respect.
