Great to meet you!

Hello! I entered this field with the belief that providing a non-judgmental and culturally affirming safe space to explore feelings, thoughts and experiences is the start to the journey we call growth. I am passionate about working with individuals, couples and families from diverse backgrounds and identities, especially the Latinx/Chicanx and Black communities. I hope to accompany folks navigating life transitions, PTSD, racial trauma, self-esteem/body image, cultural identity, anxiety and stress management.

I have a Master's Degree in Professional Counseling from Texas State University and have over a decade of experience working in the foster care system with individuals and families experiencing complex trauma.

My approach to therapy

My approach as a therapist is eclectic, direct and warm. I have found it helpful to speak plainly about our experiences which helps us understand we are not alone in them.

Therapy is not a 'cookie-cutter' experience, and I am mindful that trauma can manifest in many ways and across various aspects of our lives. It should be treated with care, which may require interventions from different frameworks.

What you can expect from me

I view therapy as a tool for self-exploration in an attempt to improve your overall quality of life. When you leave a session I hope you feel seen and heard. I hope you feel empowered to cultivate the life you want to lead!
