Great to meet you!

I am a Licensed Professional Counselor in Missouri with nearly 15 years of experience supporting individuals, youth, and families through life’s most challenging moments. I earned my Master of Science in Mental Health Counseling with a concentration in Marriage and Family Counseling from Palm Beach Atlantic University, and I hold a Doctor of Education in Community Care and Counseling.

My professional background includes extensive work in behavioral health, crisis response, and community-based care. Throughout my career, I have supported individuals facing complex emotional and behavioral challenges, including anger, impulsivity, family conflict, substance use, and involvement in risky or criminal behaviors. I have also worked closely with justice-involved youth and young adults, helping them build healthier coping skills, improve decision-making, and create positive paths forward.

I specialize in working with individuals between the ages of 12–24 who are struggling with impulsivity, anger, antisocial behaviors, substance use, and family dysfunction. I also support individuals navigating trauma, emotional regulation challenges, and life transitions. My approach is compassionate, structured, and focused on accountability, growth, and long-term change.

I believe therapy should be a safe, supportive space where individuals feel heard, respected, and empowered to make meaningful changes in their lives. My goal is to meet clients where they are, help them better understand themselves, and equip them with the tools they need to move forward with confidence and purpose.

My approach to therapy

My approach to therapy is compassionate, structured, and focused on helping individuals take accountability while building the skills they need to make healthier choices. I believe therapy should be a safe space where clients feel heard, respected, and supported—while also being challenged to grow. I use a trauma-informed approach that recognizes how past experiences, family dynamics, and life circumstances shape behavior and decision-making. I work collaboratively with clients to understand the root of their struggles, whether that involves anger, impulsivity, substance use, family conflict, or involvement in risky or criminal behaviors.

With adolescents and young adults, I focus on building emotional regulation skills, improving decision-making, strengthening communication, and helping them understand consequences while developing confidence and self-control. I also incorporate practical, real-life strategies that clients can apply outside of sessions. Above all, I believe therapy is about partnership. I meet clients where they are, walk alongside them through challenges, and help them develop the tools needed to move forward with purpose, confidence, and healthier patterns of behavior.

What you can expect from me

Clients can expect their first session with me to be welcoming, supportive, and focused on getting to know you, not judging you. Starting therapy can feel uncomfortable, so my goal is to create a safe space where you feel heard and respected from the very beginning. During the first session, we will talk about what brought you to therapy, the challenges you’re currently facing, and what you hope to gain from counseling. I will ask questions about your background, relationships, behaviors, and any concerns related to anger, impulsivity, family conflict, substance use, or other struggles you may be experiencing. This helps me better understand your story and identify the best way to support you.

We will also discuss your goals for therapy and begin creating a plan that fits your needs. I will explain how sessions typically work, answer any questions you may have, and make sure you feel comfortable with the process. Most importantly, clients can expect honesty, respect, and a nonjudgmental environment where we work together to build trust, develop skills, and create meaningful change.
