Greetings, I am Felicia Thomas, a licensed professional counselor (LPC) with the AZBBHE. I vow to offer a safe space for you to share, be, and feel seen. I am person-centered and usually say that I have a trauma lens. Meaning, often times we go through some hard stuff and may appear okay to the naked eye, but inside there's so much anxiety and depression. I goal to help you understand you, to normalize what you are experiencing, and to join you on a path to healing.
There are various approaches that are not always one size fits all. Naturally I am Person-Centered and feel as though you are the expert of you. No one knows you like you know you! When applicable, I utilize Trauma Focused CBT, Motivational Interviewing, and (or) an Existential Therapeutic approach. I am not quick to being Solution-Focused, as that can sometime come off dismissive as if you haven't already tried all the things.
When I set treatment goals, I like to gather the history and your desire to overcome your chief concern. What do you long for and what barriers are in the way of that? You cannot set treatment goals without understanding someone's story, efforts, and barriers to the desired goal.
