Hello!
My name is Fikreta, I am a licensed clinical social worker. Throughout my years of experience I've learned that therapy is certainly not a "one-size fits all" approach, and that each individual requires a personalized and unique experience. Therapy may be perceived as "scary" or "nerve wracking," but I like to think of it as cathartic and empowering. I enjoy focusing on strengths and continuously building on those points, while addressing more pressing issues as well.
As a person, I value transparency and believe it is vital in building a trusting relationship with anyone, but particularly within a therapeutic alliance. By being transparent in what to expect from session to session, to identifying realistic goals, I approach each client with unconditional positive regard. I value where you are in this process, and will meet you there, not where you or I hope you can be some day.
Within a typical session, I like to set specific, time-oriented goals, if the situation allows for this. As we know, life can be unpredictable, however, for those minor moments where we do get some time to plan ahead, I like to let you know exactly what to expect, and we work as a team to identify next steps.
Therapy to me signifies the first step on this journey to self-love and growth, and there is no greater feeling than being selected to go along on that journey.
