Great to meet you!

My name is Fiona, and I have nine years of experience providing supportive counseling. Early in my career I had the opportunity to work at a hospital and speak to people undergoing treatment for cancer. I was struck by their resiliency in the face of challenges and learned the importance of creating a safe space for people to process their experience and be vulnerable. I went back to school and have worked as a clinical social worker in a hospital setting ever since.

My approach to therapy

I believe everyone has the power to cope with and process the challenges that life can bring. However, it can feel difficult to even begin to identity the steps to get there. My role is to help you develop awareness and collaborate with you about the steps to take at a pace that works for you. It starts with an exploration of what is contributing to the problem, learning how your past shows up in your present, and identifying where you have control and choice. Through dedicated time and patience, we will learn what you can leave behind in order to move forward.

What you can expect from me

I provide a warm and comfortable space to process together the challenges that brought you to therapy. My specialties include helping individuals, couples and families who are navigating life transitions, coping with illness, grief and loss. I have training in family therapy, CBT, palliative care, grief and meaning centered psychotherapy.
