Fiona Farquharson

Fiona is a board-certified Psychiatric Nurse Practitioner that treats psychiatric conditions in children, adolescents, and adults. She obtained her undergraduate degree in Nursing from Pennsylvania State University and her post-masters degree from Monmouth University. From there, she has been a dedicated psychiatric nurse at various hospitals, a few being Hoboken University Medical Center, Hoboken Community Center, Princeton University Medical Center EDU and Hackensack Meridian Hospital.

She believes each individual has their own story, challenges, and life experiences that influences their mental health. Her goal is to work closely with patients to improve their quality of life by providing active listening and compassionate care using a multidisciplinary approach to treatment.

As a psychiatric mental health nurse practitioner, I will continue to advocate for patients who struggle to be heard or respected,manage their treatment with compassion, understanding, and attention to holistic care. Patients ultimately are more receptive to treatment if they gain a clear understanding of the treatment plan being offered by their providers. Educating the patient about various treatments, medication side effects, and providing tools to utilize during times of distress is key.
