Great to meet you!

One of the most important things you should know about me is that I love working as a mental health counselor so much that I do it in English, Spanish, and even Spanglish. Becoming a mental health counselor was a calling I knew was in me since I was a teenager. It is rooted in my desire to destigmatize therapy and make emotional well-being feel accessible and normal. I am passionate about empowering others, especially those who have learned to minimize their feelings or carry their struggles alone. This work gives my life a sense of purpose, and I consider it a privilege when clients choose me to walk alongside them. I bring dedication, care, and respect to every session because every person deserves to feel seen. If you decide to work with me, we will learn how to get back to imperfect joi (yes, that is an i).

My approach to therapy

My therapeutic approach is mostly collaborative and grounded in my genuine curiosity about the connections and patterns I identify as we work together. I challenge the thoughts that shape your inner world. I ask questions and share observations—not to tell you who you are, but to help us uncover meaning together. When something starts to “click,” I gently explore it with you, constantly reminding you that you are the expert on your own life. I believe that emotional experiences are potent sources of information, and I encourage clients to welcome their feelings rather than push them aside. Our emotions carry intel—signals about needs, boundaries, values, and wounds worth tending to with compassion. Together, we’ll use that emotional insight to guide deeper understanding and meaningful change.

What you can expect from me

During your first session, you can expect a warm welcome and a grounded, steady presence to help ease any first-session nerves. I will ask thoughtful questions to understand what brought you to therapy and what you hope to work on. You don’t need to have every answer—just a starting point is enough for us to begin building clarity together. I want you to walk away understanding that therapy requires us to try new approaches, challenge old patterns, and stay open to discovering what truly works for you. We’ll also discuss how progress unfolds over time, because healing is never linear, and that’s completely normal.
