Great to meet you!

California LCSW, MSW, PhD, 20 plus years of experience working with individuals/families experiencing transitions, with trauma due to chronic medical illness and complex coping. My expertise involves managing life transitions for those having difficulty coping with changes that accompany these issues: anxiety, decision-making, loss, grief, bereavement, and end-of-life care.

My approach to therapy

I utilize evidence-informed therapeutic interventions, including Motivational Interviewing, Cognitive-Behavioral, Solution-Focused, and Narrative therapies. My approach is collaborative and client-centered, to help you face challenges, integrate awareness, and develop ways of coping through demonstrated strategies that create meaningful change.

What you can expect from me

The first session is an opportunity for us to get to know one another and begin building a trusting therapeutic relationship. I will invite you to share what has brought you to therapy, the challenges you are facing, and what you hope to gain from our work together. We will explore your current concerns, important life experiences, strengths, support systems, and any factors that may be affecting your emotional well-being.

I approach the first session with curiosity, compassion, and respect for your unique story. There is no pressure to share more than you feel comfortable discussing. My goal is to create a safe, supportive space where you feel heard, understood, and valued.

Together, we will identify your initial goals for therapy and discuss how I can best support you. I will also answer any questions you may have about the therapeutic process. By the end of the session, you can expect to have a clearer understanding of how we will work together and a plan for moving forward that reflects your needs, values, and priorities.

This is the beginning of a collaborative process focused on helping you navigate life's challenges, strengthen your coping abilities, and move toward greater healing, resilience, and well-being.
