My unique background with various cultures, the arts, and healthcare guides an innovative and holistic psychiatric practice that stands out from the generic approach of many psychiatrists. I also have a background as an intimate partner violence and sexual assault emergency advocate. I'm particularly devoted to working with LGBTQIA+ communities, sex workers, artists, and/ or creatives. I work with all ages, and also specifically welcome work with young adults (18-24).
My approach is individualized and comprehensive to all aspects of your life and health. You are more than your current problems and symptoms; I take a holistic view that includes relationships, family issues and history, your interests, strengths, and life philosophy. At the same time, I prescribe medication as needed and track your progress with technology to get you where you'd like to be as quickly as possible. I also offer somatic approaches and techniques up to the advanced level in Somatic Experiencing. Most patients see me weekly once to twice weekly.
I'm interested in working with people who would like to do regular therapy 1-3x per week, and/or therapy in combination with biological interventions. In our first session, I already know a great deal about you as you will have completed my special intake form, so we hit the ground running. I respect you as someone different from me and I have a keen interest in listening to your story. My clients find that they receive undivided attention from me, which is deeply restorative.
