Great to meet you!

I work with adults and couples struggling with anxiety, depression, addiction, relationship challenges, and major life transitions. Many of my clients are professionals who appear successful and capable on the outside but privately feel overwhelmed, disconnected, or stuck.

I also work extensively with men and husbands who have spent years believing they should be able to handle life's challenges on their own. For couples, difficulties may show up as recurring conflict, emotional distance, communication problems, or loss of intimacy.

Before becoming a therapist, I spent more than 25 years in engineering and organizational leadership. That experience gives me an appreciation for the pressures of work, relationships, family responsibilities, and the challenge of balancing competing demands while trying to keep everything together.

My approach to therapy

My approach to therapy is warm, practical, calm, and collaborative. I believe therapy should provide a place where you can speak openly without judgment while also helping you better understand the patterns, experiences, and circumstances that may be keeping you stuck.

I draw from evidence-based approaches including Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), interpersonal and narrative approaches, tailoring our work to your individual needs rather than assuming one approach works for everyone.

I am an active therapist. I will listen carefully, ask questions, offer observations, and at times respectfully challenge you. Together, we'll work not only toward greater understanding, but toward meaningful changes that can improve your relationships, emotional well-being, and everyday life.

What you can expect from me

Our first session is an opportunity for us to get to know one another and begin understanding what brings you to therapy. We'll talk about what has been happening in your life, what concerns you most, and what you would like to be different.

You don't need to arrive knowing exactly what to say or having clearly defined goals. Part of my job is to help you make sense of what you're experiencing and identify where we might begin.

I'll ask questions about your current circumstances and relevant history, but the first session isn't an interrogation or simply a checklist of symptoms. It's the beginning of a conversation. By the end, we'll have an initial sense of what we might work on together, and you'll have an opportunity to decide whether I feel like the right therapist for you.
