Great to meet you!

My name is Francisca Onyemize, MSN, PMHNP‐BC, and I am a board‐certified Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner dedicated to providing compassionate, evidence‐based mental health care across the lifespan. I am deeply committed to creating a safe, respectful, and inclusive space for every individual—regardless of race, background, gender identity, or sexual orientation.

My clinical experience is rooted in outpatient psychiatry, where I diagnose and treat a wide range of psychiatric conditions using a holistic, patient‐centered approach. I believe effective mental health care goes beyond prescribing medication; it requires listening, educating, advocating, and partnering with clients to build treatment plans that support long‐term wellness. I integrate evidence‐based psychopharmacology with supportive and therapeutic interventions to help clients understand their symptoms, strengthen coping skills, and move toward meaningful change.

Clients working with me can expect a warm, collaborative style, clear communication, and a focus on whole‐person care. My goal is to help you feel understood, empowered, and supported as we work together toward improved mental health and overall well‐being.

My approach to therapy

I believe that stable mental health is best achieved through a holistic and collaborative approach. My work goes beyond prescribing medication—I take time to understand the whole person, including their emotional, physical, and environmental needs. During sessions, I integrate supportive talk therapy, psychoeducation, and evidence‐based strategies to help clients build insight, strengthen coping skills, and make meaningful progress toward their goals.

My style is warm, attentive, and patient‐centered. I partner with clients to create treatment plans that feel realistic, empowering, and aligned with their values. Whether we are addressing mood symptoms, anxiety, trauma, ADHD, or sleep concerns, I focus on helping clients feel heard, supported, and actively involved in their care. My goal is to provide a safe, inclusive space where every individual—regardless of background, race, gender identity, or sexual orientation—can work toward long‐term mental and emotional wellness.

What you can expect from me

In our first session, my priority is to create a calm, patient‐centered environment where you feel comfortable expressing yourself openly. I take time to understand your concerns, your history, and what you hope to achieve in treatment. We’ll talk through your symptoms, daily functioning, and any stressors you’re facing, but at a pace that feels safe and manageable for you.

I explain each step of the treatment process so you understand how medication, therapy, lifestyle changes, and other interventions can work together to help you feel better over time. My goal is for you to leave the first session feeling heard, supported, and informed—not rushed or overwhelmed. Together, we’ll begin building a collaborative plan that aligns with your needs, values, and long‐term wellness goals.
