Great to meet you!

I've worked for many years as a therapist and educator. My clinical focus includes relationship challenges, social anxiety, depression, and post-traumatic stress. I am also a Christian counselor. I'm blessed to have worked with individuals from all walks of life. I believe there is beauty in simplicity and my philosophy is to approach things in a simple yet practical manner.

My approach to therapy

I am frequently involved in professional development and believe that therapy is an art where skills have to be constantly refined. I have received training in trauma informed counseling, cognitive processing therapy, Gottman method, and motivational interviewing to name a few. There is always something to learn and I approach things with much humility. I do not know everything. I think one of the keys to being successful at anything is adaptability and a willingness to learn.

What you can expect from me

For individual services, I typically take 1-2 sessions to get to know you with a series of questions. This helps establish needs and goals. Client's report feeling improvement in their symptoms within several sessions. However, one should reflect on the fact that counseling is not only to experience relief, but also an opportunity to change unhelpful thinking patterns and behaviors. These are the changes that you'll be able to carry with you on your journey through life.
