Great to meet you!

I’m Frankie Martinez, a Licensed Professional Counselor and National Certified Counselor with a master’s degree in Professional Counseling from Dallas Baptist University. I work with individuals and couples navigating relationships, communication, intimacy, sex and sexuality, identity, anxiety, depression, and stress. I especially enjoy working with LGBTQIA+ clients, cross-cultural relationships, and people exploring ethical non-monogamy, polyamory, and kink. My goal is to provide a space where you can talk openly about your life and relationships without feeling like you need to filter or explain who you are.

My approach to therapy

I’m direct, but empathetic. My approach often comes back to a few simple questions: What do you want? What are you doing? How is it working? What needs to change? We’ll look honestly at patterns that may be keeping you stuck while also recognizing what is already working. I’m not here to tell you what your life or relationships should look like; I’m here to help you figure out what you want them to look like and how to move toward it.

What you can expect from me

The first session is a conversation. I want to understand what brought you in, what you want to be different, and what has or hasn’t worked for you before. You don’t need to have everything figured out or know exactly what your goals are before you walk through the door. We’ll start where you are, identify where you’d like to go, and begin figuring out what may be getting in the way.
