Franziska Schambeck

I am a licensed mental health counselor,

earning my MA in Counseling Psychology from Saint Martins University and my BA in Psychology from the University of Washington. I have a vast amount of experience in the counseling field, ranging from infant to geriatrics in inpatient, outpatient, and community settings. My primary focus is working with children and families between the ages of 2-12 with behavioral difficulties, emotional management, anger, anxiety, depression, and trauma.

I like to utilize a realistic, direct, but nurturing cognitive behavioral, goal oriented, and solution focused approach; challenging clients to make their own changes. I also will incorporate a variety of techniques, strategies, or theories, depending on the problem identified as well as individual preference, such as, cognitive behavioral therapy, play therapy, behavioral management training, skills development, parent education or support, problem solving, and homework assignments.

I value the therapeutic relationship between a client and a therapist, better relationships between client and therapist lead to better outcomes in therapy. Collaboration is important along with defining and actualizing your therapeutic goals. I want to help you find success.
