Great to meet you!

I'm Gabriela, a bilingual therapist who works with adults navigating anxiety, trauma, family stress, and the unique pressures of living between cultures. I was trained in Spain and the U.S., and I bring both perspectives into my work — especially with Latinx clients who want a therapist who genuinely understands the complexity of their experience, not just the clinical categories. I offer sessions in English and Spanish, whichever feels most natural to you. I work entirely via telehealth, so you can access care from anywhere in Rhode Island — your home, your car, wherever gives you the privacy you need.

My approach to therapy

My work draws from several evidence-based approaches — Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, trauma-focused CBT, attachment theory, and psychodynamic exploration — but I don't apply them like a formula. I pay close attention to what you bring into the room and tailor the work to where you actually are. For some clients that means practical tools to manage anxiety or shift thinking patterns. For others it means going deeper — understanding how your history, your family, your cultural context shaped the way you move through the world. I believe that insight and action work best together, and I'll meet you wherever you're ready to start.

What you can expect from me

The first session is a conversation, not an intake form. We'll talk about what brought you here, what's been weighing on you, and what you hope therapy can do for you. I'll ask questions and you're welcome to ask them back — finding the right therapist matters, and I want you to feel confident about whether we're a good fit. You won't leave with homework or a diagnosis. You'll leave with a clearer sense of what working together could look like. Most clients tell me they feel lighter just from being heard — that's the goal for session one.
