Great to meet you!

I am passionate about working with individuals across diverse backgrounds, especially minorities, offering support through life transitions, stress management, and emotional regulation. I take pride in creating a collaborative space where clients can explore their thoughts and feelings while building practical coping skills.

Becoming a therapist was deeply personal for me — a path shaped by my own struggles with mental health and the transformative power of finding support through therapy. The therapist I worked with not only helped me navigate my challenges but also showed me the profound impact of compassion, active listening, and guidance that my culture didn’t teach. The experience planted a seed of inspiration, and it became my goal to pursue this career.

My communication style is warm, empathetic, and collaborative. I believe in building a strong therapeutic relationship based on mutual trust and respect. I use clear, supportive, and nonjudgmental language to create a safe space where clients feel comfortable sharing their thoughts and feelings. I also incorporate active listening and reflective feedback to ensure my clients feel truly understood and engaged in their therapeutic journey.

My approach to therapy

My therapeutic approach is rooted in evidence-based practices, including Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT), Mindfulness-based Stress Reduction (MBSR), and Motivational Interviewing. I tailor each session to meet the unique needs of my clients, fostering growth, resilience, and a deeper understanding of their emotional experiences.

As a therapist, I approach goal-setting as a collaborative and client-centered process, ensuring goals reflect the individual’s unique needs, values, and circumstances. Together, we define what success looks like in therapy. I explore concerns, strengths, and identify challenges they wish to address, including long-term aspirations, and break them down into smaller, actionable steps that feel manageable and achievable.

What you can expect from me

The first session is an important step in building a strong therapeutic relationship and setting the foundation for effective treatment. My primary goal during the session is to create a safe, welcoming space where you feel comfortable sharing your story and beginning your journey towards growth and healing. We will get to know each other and engage in collaborative goal-setting to identify focus areas.
