Great to meet you!

Nice to meet you! I am a multi-racial, queer-affirming, psychodynamic psychologist. I completed my doctorate at George Fox University, where I learned to meet people where they are and to integrate their religious and spiritual beliefs into my understanding of who they are as a whole person. I work with a broad range of individuals, including immigrants, international students, trauma survivors, people adjusting to major career or life transitions, chronic relationship difficulties, religious trauma, identity concerns, grief, gender/sexual minority concerns, and family of origin issues.

My approach to therapy

I work from a person-centered and psychodynamic lens. This means that I value and prioritize taking your perspective and lead as you share what is most important to you. I view my role as being a supportive and expert companion as you seek to gain deeper understanding of the root causes of your stress, suffering, and patterns. Through this approach you are able to gain greater insight into why you are in the position you are in, better understand your needs as a result, and as a result decrease anxiety, hopelessness, and feelings of being stuck.

What you can expect from me

For the initial session I am much more hands on and directive as I invite you to share with me your history and what is most important to you. This helps me to have a good background and understanding of who you are in order to offer more specific insights and reflections. While I have some goals for the first appointment, the main hope is to form an initial connection and determine if we will be a good fit together.
