Great to meet you!

Hello, I'm Gail Foorman, a Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW) with over 10 years of experience in outpatient psychiatry, community mental health, crisis intervention, and geriatrics. I have provided therapy services to individuals, couples, and groups, assisting clients in navigating challenges such as depression, anxiety, bipolar disorder, and issues related to aging. My educational background includes postgraduate studies at Columbia University. Additionally, I have a rich history of involvement in the Jewish community, serving as a cantorial soloist and Bar/Bat Mitzvah tutor since 1989. I am committed to offering compassionate and effective therapy to support you in achieving your personal goals.

My approach to therapy

My therapeutic approach is eclectic and client-centered, tailored to meet your unique needs. I utilize evidence-based modalities, including Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR), and Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT), to help you develop effective coping strategies and foster personal growth. I strive to create a safe and supportive environment where you can explore your thoughts and feelings openly. My practice is inclusive, and I welcome clients from diverse backgrounds, including those within the LGBTQ+ community.

What you can expect from me

In our sessions, you can expect to gain practical tools and insights to manage life's challenges more effectively. Together, we will work towards enhancing your emotional well-being, improving relationships, and achieving a greater sense of fulfillment. My goal is to empower you to navigate life's transitions with resilience and confidence. I look forward to supporting you on your journey toward healing and personal growth.
