Great to meet you!

Hello, and thank you for viewing my profile.

I earned my Master of Social Work degree at the State University of NY at Albany, subsequently focused on clinical social work, and am licensed in both New York State and New Jersey, Throughout the years in my private practice I have helped guide my clients through managing depression, anxiety, relationships, attachment issues, separation/ divorce, career /workplace stressors, and life transitions. Additionally during my career I had the privilege of working for five years in Hospice with patients and families facing end of life issues, anticipatory loss and bereavement, I continue to occasionally work with clients in my practice experiencing complicated grief.

My approach to therapy

I believe in the importance of the therapeutic relationship with a relaxed approach, as I understand that it can be difficult speaking to essentially an unknown professional about matters that can be deeply personal. I strive to treat clients with respect, sensitivity, and compassion. I will tailor our dialog and treatment plan to meet your unique and specific needs as we develop your treatment goals and objectives, It takes courage to seek out a more fulfilling and happier life and to take the first steps towards change. I am here to support & empower you in that journey.

What you can expect from me

In my experience the first session is the most important, as it helps determine if working together will be "a good fit". It is important to me that you feel comfortable, heard, and understood. I will obtain your demographic information, a brief social history and then address the circumstances or precipitating event that lead to seeking counseling services. Preliminary treatment goals will be identified and defined. My treatment approach is eclectic, but generally Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) -our thoughts, feelings and behavior are interwoven and interconnected.
