Great to meet you!

Hi, my name is Gale and I have been a practicing social worker and therapist for over twenty-five years. I graduated from New York University, and have gone on to enhance my training by continuing to educate myself on many different approaches to clinical practice. I do this because I believe that no two people are exactly alike, and there is more than one way to approach solution-focused treatment. Together, we can decide what approach feels right for you in your path forward.

My approach to therapy

My style tends to be dynamic, where we engage in discussions that are intended to help you hear your own voice. I am understanding, accepting, and non-judgmental. I will support you at your own pace, as this pace is different for everyone, At the same time, I bring professional skills to help you, such as cognitive behavioral techniques used to help you identify thought patterns that may be negatively influencing your feelings and behaviors.

What you can expect from me

From our first session together, we will work to identify what your therapy goals are, and what you want as an outcome. I like to understand what you expect from therapy and what you are looking for in a therapist. This helps me to understand how I can be most helpful to you, and how we will work together.
