Great to meet you!

I am a board-certified Psychiatric-Mental Health Nurse Practitioner (PMHNP-BC) with more than 25 years of healthcare experience and a strong background as a Family Nurse Practitioner, nursing educator, and clinician. Throughout my career, I have cared for individuals across diverse healthcare settings and have developed a patient-centered approach that emphasizes respect, collaboration, and evidence-based treatment.

I specialize in comprehensive psychiatric evaluations, diagnosis, and medication management for adults experiencing conditions such as depression, anxiety disorders, ADHD, bipolar disorder, trauma-related disorders, insomnia, and schizophrenia spectrum disorders. My goal is to help patients better understand their symptoms, develop effective treatment plans, and improve their overall quality of life.

I believe successful treatment begins with listening. I work closely with each patient to create an individualized plan that reflects their unique needs, goals, and circumstances. I strive to provide a supportive, nonjudgmental environment where patients feel comfortable discussing their concerns and actively participating in their care.

In addition to my clinical practice, I serve as a nursing educator and hold a PhD in Nursing Education, which has strengthened my commitment to patient education, clear communication, and lifelong learning.

My approach to therapy

My approach to care is collaborative, evidence-based, and patient-centered. I believe that every individual deserves to be heard, understood, and treated with respect. I work closely with patients to understand their symptoms, concerns, and treatment goals so that we can develop a plan that is both effective and realistic.

I specialize in psychiatric evaluation and medication management, using current clinical evidence to guide treatment decisions. I take time to educate patients about their diagnoses, medication options, expected benefits, and potential side effects so they can make informed decisions about their care.

My goal is not only to reduce symptoms but also to improve overall functioning, quality of life, and long-term wellness. I strive to create a supportive, nonjudgmental environment where patients feel comfortable discussing their concerns and actively participating in their treatment.

What you can expect from me

During your first appointment, we will discuss your current concerns, symptoms, medical and psychiatric history, previous treatments, medications, and personal goals for care. This comprehensive evaluation helps me develop an accurate understanding of your situation and create an individualized treatment plan tailored to your needs.

If appropriate, we will discuss medication options, expected benefits, potential side effects, and alternative treatment approaches. I encourage patients to ask questions and actively participate in treatment decisions.

My goal is to provide a welcoming, respectful, and nonjudgmental environment where you feel comfortable discussing your concerns. By the end of the appointment, you can expect to have a clearer understanding of your diagnosis, treatment recommendations, and next steps for moving forward.
