Great to meet you!

I have over 25 years of professional experience in addition to having a dual degree in Mental Health Counseling and Marriage and Family Therapy. I have been one who always believed that you never stop learning. I am humbled by my vast interactions with both individuals, and or couples who have allowed me to learn and grow as a person from them. This is what separates me from my colleagues. My training is derived from not only you but gaining valuable experience by working in Hospital Emergency Rooms, Inpatient Psychiatric Hospitals for Both Children & Adults, Substance Abuse -Dependency Clinics, Correction Mental Health as well as Alzheimer's-Dementia and Nursing Home Facilities. In addition, working in Private. Practice. I am extremely comfortable working with people of all ages, genders and ethnicities.

My approach to therapy

I am comfortable working with all facets of mental health. This is what I have been trained to do. Throughout my years of learning and being open minded, I have incorporated a vast number of therapeutic modalities into my approach towards the healing process such as Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Dialectical Behavioral Therapy and Acceptance Commitment Therapy to name a few. I strive to implement positivity, encouragement and the removal of any negativity. In essence, I teach Reality Therapy with a twist of many other intertwined coping mechanisms. Whereas every action has an adverse re-action and every cause has a direct effect. This is where solutions can be found by understanding your upbringing and learned behavior pattern as this is determines how you act in a crisis and currently behave.

What you can expect from me

The first session incorporates understanding I am here to help you. I want you to be yourself and be comfortable. I live by the Golden Rule. I am willing to listen, process and learn from you because you understand yourself more than I do. My job is to incorporate this information by assisting you in your growth or the healing process but most importantly being objective, empathetic, understanding and nonjudgemental. We will then work together determining what is the root cause of the ongoing problem and then formulating a plan so that one can be able to manage any life stressors more efficiently. This is what Solution resolution is about.
