Great to meet you!

I am a board-certified Psychiatric Nurse Practitioner with over a decade of experience providing compassionate, evidence-based mental health care in both inpatient and outpatient settings. I have been practicing within RWJBarnabas Health for the past 10 + years, where I have treated individuals across diverse backgrounds with a wide range of psychiatric conditions.

I began my nursing career in 2011 as a bedside nurse, caring for patients with complex medical and psychiatric comorbidities. This foundation strengthened my holistic approach to treatment, recognizing the connection between physical and mental health. I went on to earn my Master of Science in Nursing in Psychiatry from Monmouth University in 2014, where I was honored with the Academic Excellence Award.

My clinical experience includes working in inpatient psychiatric hospitals, where I managed acute mental health conditions, as well as in intensive outpatient programs providing ongoing support for individuals with mood disorders, anxiety disorders, and substance use disorders. I have specialized training in medication-assisted treatment and obtained my Suboxone waiver in 2017, allowing me to support individuals struggling with opioid use disorder.

My approach to therapy

My approach to treatment is grounded in a holistic view of mental health, recognizing the deep connection between the mind and all aspects of a person’s life. I believe true wellness involves addressing not only psychological symptoms, but also physical, emotional, social, and spiritual well-being.

I take a collaborative, patient-centered approach to care. Rather than dictating treatment, I work in partnership with my clients to develop individualized plans that reflect their unique experiences, needs, and goals. My role is to educate, guide, and provide thoughtful recommendations based on a comprehensive understanding of each person.

By acknowledging the interplay between physical health, emotional balance, social support, and personal values, I strive to help clients feel empowered and actively engaged in their care. My goal is to foster a supportive, informed decision-making process that promotes lasting mental health and a strong sense of ownership over one’s well-being.

What you can expect from me

During your first session, you can expect a supportive and thorough evaluation focused on understanding your unique experiences, concerns, and goals. I take time to listen carefully to your story so you feel heard, respected, and understood.

Together, we will explore your symptoms and history to develop a clear picture of your needs. When clinically appropriate, I may recommend treatment options, including medication, to help manage your symptoms. Some situations are straightforward, while others may require a more in-depth assessment over time.

My goal is to create a safe, collaborative space where we can begin building a treatment plan that supports your overall well-being.
