Great to meet you!

My approach blends clinical rigor with genuine warmth. I ask a lot of questions, not to check boxes, but because I want to understand the full picture of your life, biology, and history before we decide on a path forward. I'm not interested in just managing symptoms; I want to understand the root of what's going on — whether that's biological, situational, relational, or some combination- so that treatment actually addresses the cause, not just the surface presentation. Clients often describe our sessions as feeling more like being truly listened to than being processed through an appointment. As an integrative provider, medication is one tool among several we might use, and I stay curious rather than settling for the first explanation.

My approach to therapy

My approach to care starts with listening — really listening — before we talk about treatment. In our first appointment, I take time to understand not just your symptoms, but the full context around them: your history, your body, your relationships, your stressors, and what's already been tried. I believe good psychiatric care looks beyond the diagnosis to ask why — is this rooted in biology, life circumstances, unresolved trauma, sleep, nutrition, or some combination? That root-cause thinking shapes everything that follows.

As an integrative provider, I don't assume medication is the only answer, but I also don't rule it out. Treatment plans are built collaboratively and may include medication management, lifestyle and nutritional considerations, sleep and stress support, and referrals to therapy or other specialists when appropriate. My goal is always the most effective path for you, not a one-size-fits-all protocol.

Care doesn't stop after the first visit. I check in regularly, adjust as we learn what's working, and stay curious rather than locking into an initial impression. You should always feel like an active partner in your care, not a passive recipient of it.

What you can expect from me

Your first session with me is about getting to know you, not rushing to a diagnosis or a prescription. Expect a thorough, conversational intake where we'll talk through your current symptoms, your health and psychiatric history, your lifestyle (sleep, nutrition, stress, relationships), and what's brought you to seek care now. I'll ask a lot of questions, because understanding the full picture, not just the surface symptoms, is how we get to an accurate, personalized plan.

By the end of our first visit, you can expect:

  • A clear sense that I've actually listened to your full story, not just checked boxes
  • An initial understanding of what may be contributing to what you're experiencing
  • A collaborative discussion of possible next steps, which may or may not include medication
  • Space to ask questions and share concerns, including about medication, side effects, or alternative approaches
  • A plan for follow-up, so you know what to expect going forward

There's no pressure to have all the answers walking in. My job in that first session is to start building an accurate picture together; the plan can always evolve as we learn more.
