Great to meet you!

I am an Afro-Latina Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW-R) licensed in New York and New Jersey with over sixteen years of experience providing psychotherapy to individuals and families facing a wide range of life challenges. My professional background includes working with diverse communities, including adults, families, and individuals navigating anxiety, depression, trauma, relationship stress, parenting challenges, and major life transitions.

My approach to therapy is compassionate, collaborative, and strength-based. I believe that each person brings their own life experiences, values, and cultural background into the therapeutic space, and I strive to provide care that respects and honors those experiences. I work to create an environment where clients feel comfortable speaking openly and exploring the patterns, emotions, and stressors that may be affecting their well-being.

I am committed to providing culturally responsive care that supports clients in developing insight, resilience, and greater emotional balance in their lives.

My approach to therapy

I believe therapy should be a safe space where you feel seen, understood, and empowered to make meaningful change. Whether you’re coping with anxiety, depression, grief, relationship stress, or the lingering impact of trauma, I work with you to identify patterns, strengthen resilience, and restore balance in your life. For clients who desire it, I also offer spirituality-based therapy. This can include incorporating faith, spiritual reflection, or exploring questions of meaning and purpose as part of the healing process. My style is compassionate and sincere, while also providing thoughtful guidance and accountability when growth calls for it. I strive to create a space where you feel safe enough to be honest and supported enough to grow.

What you can expect from me

The first session is an opportunity for us to begin getting to know each other in a supportive and comfortable environment. I understand that starting therapy can feel unfamiliar or even intimidating, so my goal is to create a space where you feel safe, respected, and heard from the very beginning.

During our first meeting, we will spend time discussing what has brought you to therapy, the challenges you may be experiencing, and what you hope to gain from the process. I may ask questions about your background, current stressors, relationships, and important life experiences that help me better understand your story. You are always welcome to share at your own pace.
