Great to meet you!

I am a licensed social worker with over 16 years of experience in the helping professions. My career began in the nursing field, where I developed a deep understanding of the physical and emotional challenges individuals face. Over time, I felt called to support people on a deeper level and transitioned into social work, allowing me to focus on mental health, personal growth, and overall well-being.

I hold a Master's Degree in Social Work and am currently pursuing my doctoral degree to continue expanding my knowledge and ability to serve clients with evidence-based and compassionate care. Throughout my career, I have had the privilege of working with diverse populations, including veterans, adolescents, and families navigating complex life circumstances.

Over the past three years, I have specialized in working with individuals struggling with substance use disorders, as well as youth facing behavioral, emotional, and legal challenges. My approach is grounded in empathy, respect, and collaboration. I strive to create a safe, nonjudgmental space where clients feel heard, understood, and empowered to make meaningful changes in their lives.

As a mother of three active children, I understand firsthand the challenges of balancing family responsibilities, personal goals, and life's many demands. Much of my time outside of work is spent supporting my children in their sports and activities, which has strengthened my appreciation for resilience, teamwork, and the importance of community support.

My approach to therapy

My approach to therapy is centered on creating a safe, supportive, and nonjudgmental environment where clients feel comfortable exploring their thoughts, emotions, and experiences. I believe that every individual has unique strengths and the capacity for growth, healing, and positive change.

I take a client-centered and strengths-based approach, meeting clients where they are and working collaboratively to identify goals that are meaningful to them. I understand that no two people are alike, so I tailor treatment to each individual's needs, experiences, and circumstances.

Drawing from my background in both healthcare and social work, I take a holistic view of well-being, recognizing the connection between mental, emotional, physical, and social health. My work often incorporates evidence-based techniques to help clients develop healthier coping skills, improve emotional regulation, build resilience, and overcome barriers that may be preventing them from living the life they desire.

What you can expect from me

Your first session is an opportunity for us to get to know one another and begin building a foundation of trust. My goal is to create a comfortable, supportive, and judgment-free environment where you feel safe sharing your concerns, experiences, and goals.

During our initial session, we will discuss what has brought you to therapy, any challenges you are currently facing, and what you hope to gain from the counseling process. I will ask questions about your personal history, relationships, health, and other areas of your life to better understand your unique situation and identify your strengths.

This session is also your opportunity to ask questions, share any concerns about therapy, and determine whether I am the right fit for your needs. Together, we will begin developing a plan that aligns with your goals and supports meaningful progress.
