Great to meet you!

You deserve a prescriber who listens before prescribing. I'm George Njoroge, a board certified psychiatric provider helping people manage anxiety, depression, bipolar disorder, ADHD, trauma, and insomnia with practical, personalized medication management. I believe mental health treatment works best when it's collaborative, not one size fits all. My background spans community mental health and private practice, giving me experience with people from many walks of life, including young adults, working professionals, parents, and older adults navigating life transitions. I take time to understand your full picture, your history, your goals, and your daily life, before recommending a treatment plan. Patients often tell me they feel genuinely heard, not rushed through a checklist. I stay current on the latest psychiatric research so you get evidence based care that actually fits your life. Whether you're starting treatment for the first time or looking for a new provider after a frustrating experience elsewhere, I'm here to help you feel like yourself again, with warmth, respect, and zero judgment.

My approach to therapy

You bring the goals, we build the plan together. My approach to psychiatric care is collaborative, holistic, and rooted in evidence based medicine. I don't believe in rushing to a prescription without first understanding the whole person, so every session starts with real conversation about your symptoms, lifestyle, sleep, stress, and relationships. I combine careful diagnostic assessment with ongoing medication management, adjusting treatment as your needs evolve rather than locking you into a static plan. I'm especially attentive to side effects and quality of life, because feeling better should never mean feeling numb or foggy. I also believe strongly in coordinating care, working alongside your therapist, primary care provider, or other specialists when helpful, so your treatment feels connected rather than fragmented. Cultural sensitivity and nonjudgmental listening are core to how I practice, drawing on my experience working with diverse communities and varied mental health histories. My goal is sustainable progress, not just symptom suppression, so we track what's working, stay flexible, and keep communication open between visits whenever you have questions or concerns about your treatment.

What you can expect from me

Your first visit is about understanding you, not filling out forms. Expect a thorough, unhurried psychiatric evaluation where I ask about your symptoms, medical history, family history, substance use, sleep, and daily functioning to build an accurate, complete picture. I'll explain my clinical thinking clearly, so you understand why I'm recommending a particular diagnosis or treatment path rather than receiving instructions without context. If medication is appropriate, we'll discuss options together, covering benefits, possible side effects, and realistic timelines for improvement, so you feel informed and confident in the decision. If medication isn't the right fit yet, I'll be honest about that too and discuss alternatives or referrals. You'll leave the session with a clear next step, whether that's a prescription, a follow up plan, or additional testing. I welcome questions throughout, there's no such thing as a silly one. My intake sessions typically run longer than standard follow ups, because getting your history right the first time leads to better, faster results down the line.
