Great to meet you!

Therapy doesn’t have to mean sitting in a room talking about your problems without knowing what to do next. I’m George Winegeart, and I work with individuals, couples, and families who are dealing with anxiety, relationship struggles, grief, stress, and difficult life transitions. I especially enjoy working with men who may not always feel comfortable opening up or asking for support. I take time to understand the person behind the problem, including the relationships, experiences, and patterns that have shaped where you are today. My goal is to create a space where you can be honest, challenged when needed, and supported without feeling judged.

My approach to therapy

I believe good therapy should be both comfortable and productive. I’m not here to simply tell you what you want to hear, but I also don’t believe therapy should feel like a lecture. We’ll work together to understand what is happening, identify patterns that may be keeping you stuck, and figure out what you can actually do differently. I use approaches including Cognitive Processing Therapy, Cognitive Behavioral Family Therapy, Solution-Focused Couples Therapy, and the Gottman Method depending on what makes sense for you. Whether we’re working through conflict with your partner, anxiety that is affecting your everyday life, grief after a loss, or feeling stuck in a particular chapter of life, I’ll meet you where you are and help you build a realistic path forward.

What you can expect from me

You don’t need to prepare the perfect explanation of why you’re here. We’ll start wherever it feels natural. I’ll ask questions to understand what’s been going on, what brought you to therapy now, and what you would like to be different. We’ll also talk about your relationships, stressors, and any patterns you’ve noticed along the way. Most importantly, the first session is an opportunity to see whether we’re a good fit. I want you to feel comfortable being yourself, while also knowing that our work together will have direction and purpose.
