Great to meet you!

What happens when our well-intentioned (yet at times uncooperative) brains try to protect us from experiencing harm? Yup, you got it! It's called Stress, also known as Anxiety, and at times it can be quite the nuisance. You are welcome to join me on a journey of knowledge and self-discovery to understand your process for surviving life's challenges and struggles. And then, let's recognize that, when we are actually safe, we can learn how to direct Anxiety to take a seat until it is next needed.

A bit about my approach to therapy

I am an unapologetic "brain nerd" and our sessions will likely end up delving into some aspects of neurobiology. I also enjoy a relational approach and authenticity in the therapeutic relationship. My hope is that, along with knowledge, my clients leave each session with an increased sense of strength, purpose, clarity, and relief.

What you can expect from our first session

I am a Client-Centered therapist who is also committed to evidence-based practice and well-versed in Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Dialectical Behavioral Therapy, and Trauma-Informed Therapy. This means that we will explore thoughts, emotions, and behaviors, the cycle of anxiety, as well as mindfulness techniques, if - and only if - you are on board and comfortable! My style is casual, authentic, and relational, and I value feedback and working together, every step of the way.
