Great to meet you!

Hi, my name is Geralda Gelus-Jules, DNP, PMHNP-BC, and I am a board-certified psychiatric nurse practitioner. I work with adults and young adults who are struggling with depression, anxiety, trauma, grief, mood changes, and life stressors.

My style is warm, down-to-earth, and supportive. I believe healing happens when you feel truly heard, respected, and never judged. Together, we will explore what you are going through, identify patterns, and build a plan that may include medication, coping skills, lifestyle changes, and referrals for therapy when needed.

As a nurse practitioner, I combine medical knowledge with a holistic view of you as a whole person—mind, body, culture, family, and environment. My goal is to help you feel more stable, hopeful, and in control of your life again.

I am currently accepting new clients and would be honored to support you on your mental health journey.

My approach to therapy

I approach care with warmth, respect, and a non-judgmental attitude, making sure you feel safe and truly heard. I use a trauma-informed and culturally sensitive lens by looking at your mind, body, history, and environment, not just symptoms. Together, we discuss options, make shared decisions about treatment, and move at a pace that feels comfortable so you can heal and feel more in control of your life.

What you can expect from me

In our first session, my goal is for you to feel comfortable and heard:

  • We’ll start with a simple introduction and I’ll explain how I work.
  • I’ll ask what brought you in and listen to your story at your pace.
  • I’ll review some basic history (mood, sleep, past treatment, medical issues, family, etc.).
  • I’ll gently check on your safety and stress level.
  • We’ll talk about what might be going on and I’ll explain things in clear, simple language.
  • Together, we’ll create a next-step plan (follow-up visits, possible medication options, therapy, and coping tools).

By the end of the visit, you should have a better idea of our prospective sessions and how we’ll work together going forward.
