Great to meet you!

I'm Germaine Lawrence, LMFT, Owner and Clinical Director of Healing Nest Therapy Services, and cultural humility is at the center of how I practice care that honors each client's full identity and lived experience, not a one-size-fits-all model.

I earned my graduate degree in Marriage and Family Therapy from Southern Connecticut State University. My work spans individual and couples therapy, including infidelity recovery through the Gottman Method, as well as men's work and anger management. I accept Husky/Medicaid and most major insurance plans, because accessible care matters to me.

I'm also an adjunct professor training the next generation of MFTs and an active voice in community wellness spaces I believe healing is both personal and communal.

My approach to therapy

I practice from a place of cultural humility honoring each client's identity, background, and lived experience as central to their healing, not incidental to it. I draw on evidence-based methods, including the Gottman Method for couples, while staying attuned to the cultural and community context that shapes each client's story.

Therapy with me is collaborative: a space to feel truly seen, and to do the real work of growth from there.

What you can expect from me

Your first session is a chance for us to get to know each other. We'll cover what brought you to therapy, a bit of your background, and what you're hoping for from our work together plus I'll walk you through consent and confidentiality so you know exactly what to expect.

There's no pressure to have it all figured out. My goal is for you to leave that first session feeling heard, and with a clearer sense of where we're headed together.
