Great to meet you!

Hi, I'm Trudy Carl, LICSW. I bring over 15 years of experience in social work, mental health, and human services, working with individuals, teens, families, and couples across community, healthcare, and correctional settings. I specialize in trauma, anxiety, depression, grief and loss, life transitions, relationship concerns, substance use, and re-entry after incarceration. My approach is compassionate, collaborative, and strengths-based, helping clients build resilience, gain insight, and create meaningful change in their lives.

My approach to therapy

My approach is warm, strengths-based, and grounded in a trauma-informed lens. I prioritize creating an empathetic, non-judgmental space where clients feel safe to explore their narratives and reclaim their stories. I draw from an integrative toolkit of evidence-based modalities including Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Solution-Focused Brief Therapy (SFBT), Mindfulness-Based Cognitive Therapy (MBCT), and Internal Family Systems (IFS). These methods help clients access insight, build emotional regulation skills, and develop practical strategies for growth. Above all, I see therapy as a collaborative relationship centered on trust, empowerment, and meaningful transformation.

What you can expect from me

Clients can expect to leave sessions with increased clarity, self-awareness, and actionable tools to navigate life more intentionally. Together, we work to strengthen your coping strategies, enhance your communication skills, and deepen your connection to self and others. Whether you’re facing a specific stressor or seeking long-term healing, my goal is to support you in building a life that feels grounded, authentic, and aligned with your values. You’ll be reminded that healing is possible—and that you don’t have to walk the journey alone.
