Great to meet you!

Hi, I’m Gia Short, a board-certified Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner and founder of MindSculpt Psychiatry. I provide personalized psychiatric care for adults experiencing ADHD, anxiety, depression, binge eating disorder, and weight concerns related to psychiatric medications. I also offer pre-bariatric behavioral health evaluations for individuals preparing for weight-loss surgery.

My approach is collaborative, thoughtful, and individualized. I take time to understand your symptoms, treatment history, lifestyle, and goals so we can develop a plan that feels realistic and works for you. My goal is to help you better understand your mental health, feel confident in your treatment decisions, and improve your overall quality of life.

My approach to therapy

I believe mental health care works best when you feel heard, respected, and actively involved in your treatment. My approach is compassionate, collaborative, and goal-oriented, with a focus on creating practical strategies that support meaningful, lasting progress. I combine thoughtful medication management, brief supportive therapy, and education to help you better understand your symptoms, treatment options, and overall mental health. Every treatment plan is individualized to your unique needs, lifestyle, and goals—because effective care should never feel one-size-fits-all.

What you can expect from me

Your first session is an opportunity for us to get to know each other and develop a clear understanding of what brings you to care. We’ll discuss your current symptoms, mental health and treatment history, lifestyle, and the goals or concerns that are most important to you. My goal is to create a comfortable, judgment-free space where you can speak openly and feel heard. By the end of the visit, we’ll discuss recommendations, answer your questions, and begin developing a personalized treatment plan that feels realistic and aligned with your needs and goals.
