Gilah Weissman, APRN, PMHNP-C holds a Bachelor's degree in Forensic Psychology from John Jay College of Criminal Justice and a Master of Science in Nursing with an emphasis on Mental Health from Yale University. With over 20 years of experience in inpatient, community mental health, substance abuse, and private practice settings, she provides comprehensive psychiatric services, including evaluations and medication management for patients of all ages.
Gilah employs a holistic approach to mental health care, taking into account social, psychological, and environmental factors, and values interdisciplinary collaboration to develop individualized treatment plans. Gilah encourages patient engagement in their care and supports individuals in advocating for their health. Her areas of expertise include mood disorders, psychotic disorders, anxiety disorders, addiction, and ADHD.
The initial appointment is intended to establish a thorough understanding of the client’s needs. During this session, we will gather a comprehensive history, including symptom presentation, family history, and medical background. Additionally, we will discuss treatment options and medication if deemed appropriate and mutually agreed upon. Expectations for the course of care will also be addressed.
