Great to meet you!

Hi, I'm Gilda. I’m a psychiatric nurse practitioner. I have a degree in social work from UC Berkeley, a bachelor's degree in nursing from University of Massachusetts, and a master’s degree in nursing from University of Wyoming. I’ve been a psychiatric nurse practitioner for 12 years and a nurse since 2003. I have also worked as a social worker. I enjoy working with seriously mentally ill (like people with schizophrenia) and also working with people with bipolar/depression, anxiety, trauma.

A bit about my approach to therapy

I believe that it’s a we relationship. I start our relationship by asking what would you like me to help you with and that question will be echoed throughout our conversations. This is a collaborative relationship. I will provide my expertise and you decide what you would like to do. Ultimately, it is your brain, body, mind, emotions and spirit and my job is to help you be the best person you want to be.

What you can expect from our first session

You, hopefully, will feel listened to and cared about in our sessions. You may not feel happy but I hope you will feel like someone really heard what you are saying and feeling.
