Great to meet you!

My path to private practice began in university counseling centers and community mental health settings, Those experiences inform the way I show up for clients today — with genuine curiosity and warmth. My goal is simply to create a space where you feel comfortable to be open about what’s hurting, what isn’t working, and what you’re hoping for. We’ll move at a pace that feels right for you.

Much of my work centers on helping people untangle relationship patterns that have quietly shaped their lives — things like people-pleasing, difficulty setting boundaries, fear of conflict, or seeking approval in ways that leave them feeling exhausted and disconnected from themselves. These patterns often run deep, and exploring them takes time and gentleness. I find it meaningful to sit with clients through that process.

I find it meaningful to help people reconnect with their own needs and develop a stronger, more grounded sense of identity and self-worth. For many clients, learning to recognize what they need — and feeling deserving of it — is some of the most important work we do together.

If you’re someone who has spent a long time putting others first, I understand how unfamiliar it can feel to prioritize yourself. Therapy is a space where that’s not only welcome — it’s the whole point.

I also have experience supporting clients navigating identity development, women’s issues, and the specific challenges faced by the LGBTQIA+ community, including relationship stress, self-acceptance, and managing anxiety in a world that isn’t always affirming.

My approach to therapy

I use an emotion-focused approach, which means that we slow down and pay attention to what you’re actually feeling. This is especially helpful for people who have spent years prioritizing others’ emotions over their own.

I often incorporate mindfulness-based techniques to help you build awareness of your emotional responses in real time. Many clients find this particularly valuable when working through relationship anxiety, codependency, people-pleasing patterns, or feelings of emotional exhaustion that have built up over time.

Often part of my work together involves helping to explore interpersonal relationship patterns — the ways we show up in relationships that can leave us feeling stuck, burned out, or disconnected from our own needs and sense of self. Understanding these patterns is often at the core of healing low self-esteem, fear of rejection, and difficulty setting boundaries.

My goal is to help you develop a deeper understanding of yourself — your emotions, your needs, and the patterns shaping your relationships — so you can move forward with greater self-worth, self-compassion, and emotional resilience.

What you can expect from me

The first session, called an intake, looks a little different from our ongoing work together. Here’s what you can expect:

In our first session I’ll be getting to know you — what’s bringing you to therapy right now, what’s been feeling difficult, background information, and what you’re hoping to achieve. Sometimes gathering all of this information can require more than one session.

In ongoing sessions I invite you to discuss whatever feels most present or pressing for you — a difficult interaction, an old pattern resurfacing, or something you’ve been quietly carrying. I’ll keep your goals in mind to help guide us forward.

If you’re new to therapy and unsure what you’re supposed to discuss in a session, many people can feel this way. I’m happy to help guide you as needed.
