My approach to therapy

A Client Centered-Strength Based Approach:

I use a client-centered, holistic approach tailored to your unique needs because one size never fits all. My practice incorporates techniques such as creative art and play with children and teens, along with evidence-based methods to foster self-awareness and healing, for all ages, in an engaging, effective way. Together we will identify your strengths and build upon them. I provide tools and psychoeducation so you can better understand yourself while helping you manage your day-to-day stressors, relationship conflicts, and problems. I am here to support you as we are in this together. Your path to healing starts here. Let’s work together to create the change you’re seeking.

A Holistic, Faith-Inclusive Philosophy:

Whether drawing on your faith or exploring personal beliefs, I respect your journey and values. Integrating mind, body, and spirit, I offer strength-based strategies that connect you with hope and purpose while honoring your unique path to healing. I honor each client's spiritual journey in discovering how faith and strength-based therapy can support their healing process. I believe your faith and/or belief system can help you through whatever challenges you may be facing. This approach helps create a sense of connection and belonging—not only with yourself, your God/Spiritual Guide, and others—but also provides hope, meaning, and purpose to your life.

A Lifelong Advocate for Growth:

As a lifelong learner and a parent with over 40 years of marriage, I understand life's complexities firsthand and can connect authentically with all age groups with diverse backgrounds. I am currently studying the neuroscience of the brain and how the study is learning more about the ADHD brain's functioning, a certification course.

What you can expect from me

Working with children/teens:

At your first session you can expect to be welcomed and made to feel at ease, we may have some fun!

In working with your child/teen you will either be contacted or met with first, in order to gather information regarding your concerns for your child's/teen's needs or struggles. Your teen may be part of this process. Then the connection begins with the first session with your child/teen, where we will begin to establish a sense of safety while building rapport. I use play and art in therapy sessions to create a sense of creativity and fun; in-person is recommended.

Working with adults, couples & families:

In working with you as an adult, individually, as a couple or family, I will gather family and personal history along with what areas you are struggling with in order to begin creating treatment goals. I will suggest different modalities and begin to provide you tools to manage your day-to-day stressors, relationship conflicts, or presenting problems. I am here to support your needs and goals; we are in this together; in-person and Telehealth are available.
