Great to meet you!

Hello, my name is Gino Rubens and I'm a licensed therapist with over three years of experience working in mental health in inpatient facilities, as well as outpatient individual therapy. Through my experience, I have treated individuals and their family members with gaining a better understanding mental health, trauma, and/or addiction. I will always go at your pace while encouraging and challenging you to continue walking out of your comfort zone with the right therapeutic tools.

My approach to therapy

My approach to therapy centers on gathering insights into each client’s lived experiences while shedding light on the thinking patterns and mental health challenges that may cloud their perspective. I work collaboratively, prioritizing a healthy partnership where clients feel supported rather than confronted while gaining the necessary tools to continue with progress. I have no hesitation in being direct and gently pointing out “blind spots” that might otherwise go unnoticed.

What you can expect from me

When working with my clients, I expect clients to gain a better perspective on themselves as we take a deep dive and explore the impact of the past while exploring how we may recognize the power to change the present. I believe we all are writing our future with a pen in our hand but we sometimes get lost, feel lost, or give up hope. I want my clients to gain a better feeling of control over their lives, instead of watching on the sidelines.
