Great to meet you!

I've been a therapist for 18 years, and in that time I've learned that most people come to therapy carrying more than they've let anyone see. Maybe you're exhausted from holding it together, or anxious in ways that are hard to explain, or still affected by something that happened a long time ago. I want you to know you don't have to have it figured out before you walk in. My style is warm and down to earth, and I'll be honest with you while making sure you feel supported. You already have strengths that got you this far, and part of my job is helping you see them.

My approach to therapy

I look at the whole picture: your thoughts, your body, your relationships, your history, and the pressures you're living with right now. A lot of my work draws on Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, which means we'll look at the patterns of thinking and reacting that keep you stuck and practice new ones that actually fit your life. I specialize in anxiety, depression, stress, trauma and PTSD, relationship and family struggles, identity, and women's issues. My goal isn't just relief from what's hardest right now. It's helping you feel more like yourself, with tools you can use long after our work together.

What you can expect from me

The first session is mostly a conversation. I'll ask what brought you in, what's been hardest lately, and what you'd like to be different. You can share as much or as little as feels comfortable, and there's no pressure to tell your whole story on day one. Before we finish, we'll talk about what you're hoping to get out of therapy and what a plan might look like. Most people leave feeling relieved that they finally said it out loud.
