Great to meet you!

I am a gay identified Clinical Psychologist who specializes in working with gay, bi-sexual, heterosexual, and men questioning their sexual orientation. With over 25 years of clinical and leadership experience, I work with men in all stages of their lives. Relationship issues, issues of coming out, sexual issues, and major stage of life changes and transitions are areas in which I do a lot of work with my patients. I also do a lot of work with students who are going into the field of psychology and psychiatry as part of their personal and professional development.

My background is very unique as I have been in organizational leadership as the CEO of many different clinically based organizations giving me a unique insight into professional and stage of life challenges, such as major career changes.

I am also the dad of adoptive children, one of which has significant special developmental challenges and needs.

All off my experience, both personally and professionally, combined with a rich family life filled with various pets, makes me the person I am today. I am looking forward to working with you on your journey and with any challenges you are facing. Please look at my website as well: https://www.glenmarpsych.com

My approach to therapy

I am very interactive and participatory in my approach to psychotherapy. We will work together to evaluate your total live picture, including reviewing any other outstanding health or well being issues that your are experiencing. I welcome the opportunity to work collaboratively with other providers, and frequently, with proper releases, work with the primary care providers and psychiatrists who are seeing my patients.

We will set goals, goals which we will revisit on a frequent basis. Although the majority of our work with be virtual, I do travel through California several times a year, and will see most patients in an office setting in a major city near to their home.

I see psychotherapy as a side by side journey that you will lead and I will guide. We will explore areas that are sometimes too difficult for you to venture into alone, and together we will navigate the challenges and emotions associated with such domains.

What you can expect from me

You can expect direct, clear, empathic communication combined with a sense of humor, creativity, and complete acceptance of where you are at in your life. From there, we will identify where you want to go, and set a path together that we will navigate and walk side by side. I am looking forward to working with you.
