Great to meet you!

Hi, I’m Gloria, and I believe that healing happens when we feel truly seen, understood, and supported. I bring a compassionate, direct, and adaptable approach to my work, grounded in a genuine curiosity about each person’s unique story.

Professionally, I have a Master of Science in Counseling and Psychology from Troy University and a Bachelor of Arts in Psychology with a minor in Biology from Ohio University. I’m also trained in a range of evidence-based modalities including Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT), Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR), and Internal Family Systems (IFS). My goal is to tailor treatment to each client’s individual needs, meeting them where they are with respect and flexibility.

My experience spans over a decade, including running the Tribeca 12 outpatient center for the Hazelden Betty Ford Foundation in New York for three years. I currently serve as the Clinical Director at Acqua Recovery, where I oversee care for adults and families navigating complex mental health and substance use challenges. I’ve worked with diverse populations—ranging from individuals involved in the criminal justice system to people of affluence and high-achieving young adults—always with a focus on treating trauma, anxiety, depression, and substance use.

Outside of work, I’m a mom and an outdoor enthusiast who thrives on adventure. Whether it's hiking and mountain biking in the summer, or snowshoeing and skiing in the winter, nature is a big part of my life. I share it all with my two big mountain dogs, who remind me daily of the power of presence, patience, and play.

Therapy isn’t one-size-fits-all, and I’m here to walk beside you as we navigate your unique path to healing—whether you're working through past trauma, managing anxiety or depression, or rebuilding your life in recovery.

My approach to therapy

My approach to therapy is rooted in curiosity, compassion, and a deep respect for each person’s individual journey. I like to dig deeper—not just into what’s happening on the surface, but into the patterns, beliefs, and experiences that shape how you see yourself and the world. I ask thought-provoking questions to help uncover insight and foster awareness, often challenging unhelpful thinking patterns in a direct but supportive way.

While I bring structure and clinical expertise to our work, I also adapt my style to meet you where you are. Some sessions may feel more reflective and exploratory; others may be more skills-based or goal-oriented, depending on your needs in the moment. Regardless of the direction we take, my goal is always to empower you to connect more deeply with your values, build emotional resilience, and create lasting change.

I believe therapy should be an active and collaborative process—and I’ll be right there with you, offering both challenge and support as you grow.

What you can expect from me

Clients can expect to leave sessions with a deeper sense of introspection and curiosity about themselves—often discovering new perspectives they hadn’t considered before. I aim to create a space where you can explore your internal world with honesty and wonder, while also identifying the patterns and beliefs that may no longer be serving you.

You’ll build and develop practical skills tailored to your goals, whether it’s managing anxiety, navigating relationships, or coping with trauma. I’ll hold you accountable—not in a rigid way, but in a way that empowers growth and helps you apply what you’re learning outside the therapy room. Together, we’ll challenge outdated thought patterns and belief systems and work toward creating healthier, more effective ways of thinking, feeling, and living.

Ultimately, my hope is that you leave each session feeling both supported and stretched, gaining insight and tools that help you move forward with clarity and confidence.
