Dr. Godwin Orji is a board-certified psychiatrist dedicated to providing compassionate, evidence-based mental health care through telepsychiatry. He completed his psychiatry residency at Interfaith Medical Center/One Brooklyn Health in Brooklyn, New York, where he also served as Chief Resident. He earned his Doctor of Medicine from the University of Benin and a Master of Public Health from Tulane University.
Dr. Orji has experience caring for patients across emergency, inpatient, outpatient, and Veterans Affairs settings. He currently serves as an attending psychiatrist at the Michael E. DeBakey VA Medical Center in Houston, Texas, and has held faculty appointments teaching medical students and psychiatry residents.
His approach emphasizes collaboration, respect, and individualized treatment. He works with adults experiencing conditions such as anxiety, depression, bipolar disorder, trauma-related disorders, and other psychiatric conditions, combining medication management with patient-centered care to help individuals achieve lasting wellness.
Dr. Orji is licensed to practice medicine in Texas and New York and is a member of the American Psychiatric Association and the American Association for Geriatric Psychiatry. He has also contributed to psychiatric research with peer-reviewed publications and presentations.
